About GolfRead.com
Golf historian Richard E. Donovan (Dick) was in business for over 30 years, specializing in golf since 1978, and selling books online as GolfRead.com since 2006. Dick’s family is committed to continuing the business despite his passing in February, 2007. We will continue to provide the highest level of service to assist collectors in building and expanding their golf libraries.

We have an extensive inventory of collectible used and vintage golf books and also offer select new titles. We stock many unique items and small publications that are difficult to find, including The Game of Golf and the Printed Word 1566-2005, the updated “bible” of golf book collecting by Dick Donovan and Rand Jerris. Not all our inventory is listed on GolfRead.com, so if you don’t see what you’re looking for, let us know! Send us an email at customersupport@golfread.com or call us at (508) 446-7770.

Book Conditions

Items are new unless described as Used. We tend to be conservative in describing the condition of our books, and try to use as much detail as possible. If you would like more detail on a particular book, please ask. We will be happy to answer your questions or provide additional photographs. The grading terms used in our descriptions are explained below:

As new: Used only for books in virtually the same condition as the day they were published. A book that shows no wear. Out of print books still wrapped in shrinkwrap will be designated as a used book in “As new” condition.
Fine: Approaches the condition of the above; may show only the most minor wear.
Near-fine: Nearly fine, but may show a few small signs of wear.
Very good: A collectible and desirable book that shows some wear.
Good: Used and worn; a book that is complete but worn. In most cases collectible only as a reading copy.
